As a stop-gap measure, we're currently tracking the various system enhancements to SFX or MetaLib that various institutions would like to see considered for future development. While Ex Libris does have a new CRM system established to track these requests, the information is not currently available to those outside of Ex Libris.
If you would like to post an enhancement idea here, please fill in this form. The information will then be posted below.
Title: Include the display of full, display and alternate names in the browse from the alphabetic list and the Title search using "Starts with". Description: We just brought up the Metalib Find Database module and are noticing that only the Display title shows up in the browse lists from the A-Z letters and the Title "Starts with" search. The problem is that our resources are often known by different titles - Web of Science has the display name Web of Science, but is also known as the Science Citation Index and Social Sciences Citation index and of course the abbreviations SCI and SSCI. The only listing in a browse is Web of Science. So the patron choosing the letter S from the alphabetic list or a Title search with "Starts with" (which is the default) will never find the database because it only displays as Web of Science. Title: Display services with current access at top of SFX menu. Description: We often have multiple providers for different journals. This is usually due to varied thresholds/embargos/etc. We sometimes have the situation where a provider which does not give us current issues is filtered to the top of the services menu alphabetically. It would be wonderful if the sorting/templates were enhanced to enable identification of services which are current (not embargoed). If this identification were availble, we could then display current services first.
